Assistant Tax Manager

What you can expect

The India Assistant Tax Manager will be responsible for supporting with direct and indirect tax matters in India. The India Assistant Tax Manager will be responsible for working closely with tax, finance, systems and business partners. The India Assistant Tax Manager will manage compliance for direct and indirect taxes. Additionally, advising on tax implications of new products in India, managing audits, and advising on the direct and indirect tax implications of business transactions. This role reports to the India Tax Lead and works closely with the global VAT/GST team.

About the Team

As a key member of the Tax team, the Assistant Tax Manager will play a critical role in enabling the success of the tax department. Supporting the India Tax lead with managing Indirect and Direct taxes in India.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years experience in Indian direct and indirect tax.

  • Experience and knowledge of Indian tax laws, including the Income Tax Act, Goods and Services Tax and other relevant tax rules and regulations.

  • Experience with billing/ERP systems and tax engines and reporting systems (Oracle, Zuora, Avalara), including configurations to support appropriate transaction-level reporting.

  • Experience in handling indirect and direct tax compliance, advising on DTAA impacts and tax audit queries.

  • Able to collaborate cross-functionally with tax partners. Finance, product, legal advisors, billing systems by aggregating Indian tax requirements into a concise summary for the intended audience. Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure comprehensive tax compliance.

  • Able to understand and analyze complex Indian Direct and Indirect tax matters and assess the impact to Zoom.
