Roles & Responsibilities
The Solution Engineer role at Zoom is an exciting and rewarding position. We are seeking a technical sales professional with knowledge of customer business drivers who can effectively promote the Zoom Communication platform. The Solution Engineer serves as a trusted advisor and plays a crucial role in delivering Happiness to our customers.

This individual serves as the lead advocate for customers, translating their technical needs into product development recommendations, testing customer environments, and championing customer demands and features within Zoom. They must have the ability to comprehend and articulate Zoom's architectural advantages to our customers, as well as support the Account Executive in proposing and designing solutions for our customers' most significant collaboration challenges.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven and possess a background in telephony, video, and application sales. They should have a deep understanding of the Zoom communication platform (Chat, Meetings, Video, Phone, Marketplace/API), or its competitive equivalents.


As a Solution Engineer you will be:

  • Designing next generation communication solutions for Zoom customers

  • Conducting demo and proof of concepts for prospective Zoom customers

  • Solution and architectural design and selling

  • RFQ/RFP response/preparation

  • Building competitive intelligence

  • Working Across Multiple Boundaries

  • Driving the Zoom Vision

There may be travel required in the territory stated above. We will greatly promote the use of the amazing Zoom tools we have to maximize all the resources at Zoom.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English

  • Strong Business acumen and excellent communication skills

  • 7+ years of technical experience in Collaboration technologies

  • 7+ years of experience in a customer facing technical role

  • Knowledge of traditional voice communications systems and applications

  • SaaS Collaboration sales experience i.e. web conferencing, cloud voice, UCaaS

  • Ability to create, present and document technical solutions

  • Ability to present topics in a clear and concise manner to many levels of technical skill sets and audience sizes

  • Ability to formulate and communicate a technical solution / vision

  • Understanding of solution sales

  • Be flexible and able to function in a high growth environment

  • Typically requires Bachelor of Science (BS) / Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or equivalent

Desired Skills:

  • End-to-end IT systems knowledge

  • Mentor developing team members

  • Act as a leader when the situation warrants

  • Understand Zoom partner and ecosystem partners, products and applications

  • Competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings.
