Global Lead, Events
The Global Lead, Events will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive events strategy on a global scale for Zoom. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with a proven track record in planning, managing, and overseeing a wide range of events, including conferences, trade shows, product launches, workshops, and more. The Global Lead, Events will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that events align with the company's brand, objectives, and values, while delivering exceptional experiences for attendees.
About The Role
Strategy and Planning:
- Develop a holistic global events strategy that supports the company's overall goals and brand identity.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define event objectives, target audiences, and desired outcomes.
- Conduct thorough market research and stay updated on industry trends to ensure event strategies remain competitive and innovative.
- Create an annual events calendar, considering factors such as event size, location, timing, and budget.
- Plan, execute, and oversee a diverse range of events, from concept to post-event evaluation.
- Manage all aspects of event logistics, including budgeting, vendor selection, venue sourcing, travel arrangements, and equipment rental.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless event execution, including marketing, design, sales, and technical teams.
- Monitor event timelines and milestones, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop event-specific promotional materials, ensuring consistent messaging and branding.
- Work closely with sales teams to align event goals with lead generation and business development targets.
- Build relationships with key industry partners, sponsors, and vendors to enhance event quality and offerings.
- Design event experiences that engage, educate, and entertain attendees while reflecting the company's values.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the attendee experience and incorporate insights into future events.
- Address any issues or concerns that arise during events, ensuring quick and effective resolutions.
Metrics and Analysis:
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the success of events, such as attendance rates, engagement levels, and ROI.
- Analyze post-event data and feedback to generate comprehensive reports, identifying areas of improvement and success.
- Use data-driven insights to refine future event strategies and tactics.
- An understanding of the competitive landscape, best practices, platforms and tools.
- Expertise in bringing cross-functional team members together; helping other teams bring results through close collaboration.
- People-first leader who can recruit and develop excellent events talent for succession planning.
- Assess potential risks associated with the event and develop contingency plans to address emergencies or unexpected situations.
- Oversee various aspects, such as registration, guest services, audiovisual setups, entertainment, and more. They ensure that everything goes according to plan and handle any unforeseen issues that may arise.
- Play a critical role in promoting the event to attract attendees. This can involve creating marketing materials, utilizing social media, and collaborating with the marketing team to reach the target audience.
- 15+ years of experience in event management, preferably in a global context.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years managing teams.
- Strong understanding of event industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in budget management, negotiation, and vendor relations.
- Creative thinker with the ability to devise unique event concepts and experiences.
- Proficient in using event management software and tools.
- Ability to travel as required.
Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
