Project Manager
Top Hat
We are looking for a collaborative, responsive, and adaptable Project Manager (PM) to join our growing Learning Solutions Team at Top Hat.
As a PM, you will play a key role in ensuring that the textbooks we deliver are innovative, current and above all, engaging and relevant for students in the modern connected classroom. In this role, you will own development and production-facing project management of new digital content built directly in our courseware platform across multiple disciplines including STEM, Social Sciences, and the Humanities.
If you enjoy working with creators of educational content and are excited by the thought of creating textbooks that go beyond the bounds of the printed page, then Top Hat is the place for you!
You will:
Manage the development or production of 3-5 digital textbooks concurrently with an ability to scale to 7 as your experience with Top Hat grows.
Manage multi-stakeholder teams including authors, developmental editors, and subject matter experts.
Train your external project stakeholders (authors, developmental editors, and subject matter experts) on platform functionality and editing tools.
Build and adhere to complex development schedules.
Build budgets to accurately reflect the scope of the project and monitor throughout the project’s development cycle
Monitor project progress and ensure best practices are followed through all stages of development.
Source subject matter experts for ancillary work.
Proactively flag potential issues and problem-solve creatively.
Communicate project progress with internal stakeholders
About you:
You are passionate about project management and have experience working through the lifecycle of a project (developing content to spec, managing budgets, meeting critical schedules, working with multiple stakeholders, and performing quality assurance). PMP Certification is an asset.
You understand the nuances of author and vendor management and have proven tactics on how to lead with influence to deliver a learning solution on plan, on time, and on or under budget.
You have an undergraduate university degree. A minimum of three years of experience in developing digital resources for the post-secondary market is preferred.
You have experience managing concurrent projects and keeping them on track.
You are an exceptional communicator with a proven ability to provide authors and editors with honest, critical, and constructive feedback.
You have completed coursework in instructional design.
You enjoy working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment where innovative thinking, problem-solving, and a strong work ethic are highly valued.
