As part of our post-Series C growth, we’re excited to add a Senior Software Engineer to our team, reporting to the Engineering Director for our Integrations team. As a Senior Software Engineer at ThreeFlow, you’ll jump right in and work on our external RESTful API, as well as help us integrate third-party broker and carrier management systems into our product. Our team collaborates to plan and execute engineering projects that help ThreeFlow’s carrier and broker clients exchange crucial business data. Our tech stack is Rails, Postgresql, and AWS (terraform).

About the role

• Collaborate with the engineering team to build and refine the external API that Carriers and Brokers can use to exchange data with our system.

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Rails code.

• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of our applications by helping to identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems.

• Ensure our team’s code is tested, maintainable and able to change to meet the needs of our business and customers.

• Manage vague and ambiguous requirements that are often changing regularly based on external third-party API’s and client needs.

About you

• 6+ years of experience building highly available web applications with at least 2 of those years working with Ruby on Rails.

• Able to independently make engineering and architectural decisions with minimal guidance.

• Experience building and working with Rails-based RESTful APIs.

• Experience integrating with third-party APIs utilizing a number of technologies such as SOAP, XML-RPC, REST, etc.;

• Experience with various API authentication methods such as OAuth, JWT, SAML, etc..

• Comfortable working directly with third-party counterparts to develop, implement, and test complex data mapping and integration solutions.

• Able to learn new concepts and complex business processes, and translate them into maintainable application workflows.

• Comfortable working on an agile team and continuously improving team process, performance, and predictability.

• Comfortable communicating technical problems and potential solutions across multiple teams, departments, and levels; leverages experience to anticipate, iterate on, and solve problems.
