As the Vice President of Sales Development at Salesloft, you’ll set team goals, motivate and develop team members, and work closely with other senior leaders across a variety of departments including Sales, Marketing, and Operations. You will drive strategy and execution for the global inbound and outbound opportunity generation team that drives attainment of our revenue goals.

As a key leader who manages managers, you’ll set talent strategy, architect industry-leading processes, and leverage bleeding-edge technologies. You will also serve as an industry thought-leader sharing actionable, data-driven best practices via blogs and case studies.

What you’ll do

You will lead a global team of SDRs, BDRs and managers to generate qualified sales opportunities, pipeline and help your teams achieve their targets. You will lead a diverse and passionate global team, help train and mentor them as they build their career in sales. You will work closely with demand generation and sales/marketing operations teams to target leads, contacts and turn them into qualified opportunities. You will work closely with our SVPs of Enterprise and Commercial sales to define GTM strategy.

The right candidate will be passionate about Salesloft and enjoy experimenting and driving innovation within our teams in both process and our use of technology. Not only will you be leading our sales development efforts internally, but will be a trusted partner to develop insights and best practices for the broader market.

  • 4+ years of second-line management experience, preferably leading, building, & scaling sales development organizations in a fast-paced, highly competitive SalesTech or MarTech software sales environment
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Strong quantitative skills to measure, manage, and optimize activity and productivity
  • The desire to lead, coach, motivate and develop others around you. You have a passion for developing talent and coaching a team to success while building an energetic environment where people love to come to work every day.
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills since you’ll serve as a sales engagement thought-leader
  • Strong innovation skills - you will think of innovative ways to boost conversion rates and drive revenue.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to reach a resolution and maintain strong relationships
  • Strength in working with cross-functionally including executive management, sales, operations, and marketing teams
  • Proven track record of delivering on aggressive sales pipeline targets
  • Design playbooks and career paths for the sales development organization
  • Experience in leveraging CRM software, preferably Salesforce, to manage a high performing teams
  • Salesloft experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred


  • Attend Salesloft’s New Hire Orientation, where you will learn our Salesloft story and understand what makes our “Lofters” unique
  • Join our 3-week Sales Bootcamp, where you will learn our software and all the skills necessary to set you up for success, allowing you to make an impact in the market quickly
  • Conduct 1:1s with members of your team and key partners
  • Work directly with your Managers on new initiatives and ways to improve day to day operations; build the best Sales Development team in the industry.
  • Set your OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) with your manager and develop an action plan to achieve them
  • Meet key partners in Sales, Finance, Marketing, Executives etc. - they will be key relationships for you lead generation
  • Gain a strong understanding of Sales Enablement space and the business challenges Salesloft solves


  • Have a strong understanding of the business, and begin teaching us a thing or two we don’t know
  • Dive into metrics - where are we winning and where are we losing?
  • Begin to hone Salesloft’s pitch and roll out changes to the team
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that drive monthly, quarterly and yearly growth against company targets
  • Understand our recently adopted GTM strategy and begin to make improvements in our KPIs
  • Hire, develop, coach and manage a strong team of Sales Managers to meet and exceed sales objectives
  • Participate in team-building and company-growth activities including strategy setting, sales training, marketing efforts and client care
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of Salesloft’s product, value, competitors, and unified communications and collaboration industry trends
  • Consistently help your team achieve their activity goals


  • Begin to implement the vision for change/impact that you have been developing over the past 6-months
  • Think seriously about developing and growing your team - you’ll identify key talent on your team and remove roadblocks on their way to success
  • Make serious strides against the year’s growth and revenue targets
  • Complete your Lessonly training to ensure you are up-to-date on negotiation best practices, new releases and more
  • Continue to focus on your OKRs

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.

The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
