The Principal Data Strategist: Finance Business Engagement Partner serves as the primary data and analytics liaison for the finance business function. This role is responsible for building deep partnerships with business leaders, understanding strategic priorities, and translating complex business needs into scalable, outcome-driven data and analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary data and analytics partner for the assigned business function, developing a deep understanding of business strategy, KPIs, and decision-making needs
- Own end-to-end business engagement, from intake and clarification through delivery alignment and post-delivery feedback
- Act as a trusted advisor and change leader, driving adoption of data and analytics solutions through effective communication, training, and enablement
- Champion automation and AI-ready approaches to reduce manual effort, improve scalability, and enable advanced analytics
- Represent the business function in data and analytics prioritization and roadmap discussions, providing informed input based on business context and data expertise
- Contribute to evaluating demand against delivery capacity, dependencies, and roadmap commitments
- Translate business challenges into clear, outcome-focused data, reporting, and analytics requirements

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven experience operating as a senior business partner in data, analytics, or technology-enabled transformation roles supporting finance
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across business and technical teams
- Strong experience shaping and prioritizing demand in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Experience engaging with global and cross-functional teams
- Ability to translate business needs into actionable data and analytics requirements
- Track record of leading delivery of cross-functional initiatives from concept through adoption
- Solid understanding of enterprise data concepts, including data quality, reporting layers, analytics, and governance
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Passion for data-driven decision-making, scalable solutions, and continuous improvement
