About Mercor
Mercor is training models that predict how well someone will perform on a job better than a human can. Similar to how a human would review a resume, conduct an interview, and decide who to hire, we automate all of those processes with LLMs. Our technology is so effective it’s used by all of the top 6 AI labs.
We crossed a $500M revenue run rate and have averaged 59% month-over-month growth for the last 6 months, making us the fastest growing company in the world. The team is small and we remain extremely profitable because we can’t hire great people as fast as revenue is growing.
About the Role
As a General Manager (GM) at Mercor, you will take full ownership of a business vertical, with a primary focus on execution, client delivery, and operational excellence. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our largest clients receive flawless execution, while coordinating across internal teams—including Finance, Revenue Operations, and Engineering—to keep delivery aligned with growth.
Building on the foundation of Strategic Project Leads and Senior SPLs, you will scale impact beyond individual projects by leading multiple high-value accounts, ensuring operational rigor, and driving repeatable delivery models that sustain long-term partnerships with the world’s top AI labs and technology companies.
General Managers are accountable for delivering tens of millions in revenue, building reliable operational playbooks, and acting as the bridge between clients, internal teams, and Mercor’s leadership. You’ll report directly to Mercor’s President or COO.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Delivery Ownership: Drive $25M–$100M in annual revenue through oversight of multiple client accounts and by ensuring day-to-day delivery excellence.
Operational Leadership: Be deeply in the weeds of operations—reviewing data, refining processes, and rolling up your sleeves for execution. Build scalable processes, playbooks, and best practices for rigorous delivery.
Client Delivery: Lead execution for our most important clients, ensuring flawless outcomes, high-quality project delivery, and long-term account health. Present confidently on customer calls and build trust at the executive level.
Team Leadership & Development: Manage, coach, and scale a team of SPLs and senior SPLs, with an emphasis on developing future leaders, training great managers, and instilling a culture of grit and operational excellence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance and RevOps to ensure accurate forecasting, profitability, and margin tracking. Partner with Engineering, Machine Learning, and Operations to refine delivery models and infrastructure.
Customer Advocacy & Relationship Management: Blend operations with customer management—proactively identify risks, resolve blockers, and strengthen relationships with technical and business stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Review, track, and improve operational performance with a relentless focus on detail, iteration, and execution.
Executive & Client Reporting: Provide clear, data-driven reporting on delivery progress, risks, and opportunities to both Mercor’s leadership and client executives.
Account Expansion: Strengthen client relationships by identifying new opportunities to expand scope and deepen partnerships through excellent execution.
What Are We Looking For?
8–12+ years of experience in consulting, finance, startups, or high-growth technology environments.
Proven track record of owning or driving $20M+ in revenue through client delivery.
Demonstrated ability to lead and scale high-performing teams in execution-heavy and data heavy environments.
Strong operator who thrives in gritty, high-intensity work environments (12-hour days don’t scare you).
Low-ego, high-EQ leader who excels in both operational details and customer-facing conversations. Can work cross functionally with product / engineering teams.
Competent in developing and training teams managing competing projects and building strong manager pipelines.
Exceptional client management and communication skills, with confidence presenting to executives and technical stakeholders alike.
Experience collaborating closely with Finance and Revenue Operations to manage forecasting, profitability, and revenue alignment.
Bonus: Technical background or experience in AI, ML, or human data. Comfort working with technical customers and understanding the ML training lifecycle is a superpower.
Extra Bonus: Former founders who have built and scaled companies—you know how to wear multiple hats, take ownership, and drive execution with limited resources.
