Overview The role This is a senior, end‑to‑end social strategy role for someone who believes social isn’t a channel — it’s where culture is made, communities are built, and brands earn their relevance. As Senior Social Strategist, you’ll own how Influential thinks about social strategy: from cultural insight and creative direction through to community design, platform thinking and creator ecosystems. You’ll connect culture, creativity and community into unapologetically strong strategies that brands can actually execute. What you’ll do: Own social strategy, end to end Lead the development of best‑in‑class social strategies — from insight and cultural tension through to creative territories, formats and ecosystems. Translate brand problems into sharply defined social roles, behaviours and opportunities. Shape platform strategy that goes beyond optimisation into meaning, momentum and scale. Be obsessed with culture Track, decode and articulate cultural shifts, subcultures, communities and behaviours — and turn them into usable strategic opportunity. Bring a strong POV on what matters now (and what’s next), not just what’s trending. Help clients navigate culture with confidence, credibility and creativity. Design for community, not just reach Think beyond campaigns to community building, creator ecosystems and long‑term relevance. Design always‑on social systems that reward participation, belonging and fandom. Work closely with creators, talent and partnerships to ensure strategies are built for real people, not abstract audiences. Help clients develop campaign and always on strategies across Social platforms and Inlfuencer Connect strategy and creativity Collaborate deeply with creative, influencer, content and client teams to bring strategies to life. Write inspiring, clear and commercially grounded creative briefs. Be the strategic partner creatives and social teams want to work with — opinionated, generous and sharp. Partner with our Creative Director and Creative team to deliver Award Winning social and Influencer work. Shape Influential’s strategic edge Help define and evolve Influential’s POV on social, creators, culture and community. Contribute to thought leadership, credentials, pitching and product development. Mentor junior team members and raise the overall strategic bar across the agency. What we’re looking for 7+ years’ experience in social strategy, creative strategy or cultural strategy (agency or equivalent). A proven track record building end‑to‑end social strategies, not just content plans. Deep understanding of platforms, creators and internet culture — and how they intersect. A genuine obsession with culture, creativity and community. Sharp strategic thinking paired with the ability to clearly articulate ideas (written and verbal). Ability to find and define insights and strategy Passion for knowledge and thirst to understand people and culture Confidence to challenge briefs, push thinking, and lead rooms — with clients and internally. A collaborative mindset and strong belief that great strategy is made with others, not in isolation.
