Overview The Data & Platform Solutions (DPS) team is a group of experts dedicated to enabling better marketing decisions through data, technology, and advanced audience strategies. We apply deep platform knowledge, data governance rigor, and activation expertise to help clients maximize the impact of their audience data and technology investments. The VP, Data & Platform Solutions is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and overseeing the audience strategy, data governance framework, and platform ecosystem that power data-driven media for the Lilly business. This highly motivated, detail-oriented individual leads the development of compliant audience strategies, designs processes for how data flows through the tech stack, and ensures the seamless execution of the client’s data investments. The ideal candidate is a curious problem solver, a confident partner to legal and privacy stakeholders, and a cross-functional leader who excels at turning complex data challenges into clear, actionable solutions. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Client Impact - Lead creation of comprehensive, compliant data strategies tailored to the needs and regulatory considerations of pharmaceutical and healthcare-related marketing. - Serve as a key advisor to client stakeholders (marketing, analytics, legal, privacy, and compliance) by translating complex data concepts into actionable decisions. - Design innovative approaches to audience activation, including advanced segmentation, identity resolution, and personalization within strict regulatory and privacy constraints. - Align data strategy with media investment decisions, ensuring platform capabilities are fully leveraged to improve performance and measurement. - Partner with investment, analytics, and strategy teams to integrate insights and operationalize data-driven planning and optimization. Privacy, Compliance & Governance - Own the development and enforcement of data governance frameworks specific to pharmaceutical marketing, including adherence to state-level health privacy laws, CCPA/CPRA and evolving U.S. health data legislation. - Serve as the primary liaison to legal, privacy, and compliance teams—both internal and client-side—to ensure audience usage, data partnerships, and platform workflows meet regulatory expectations. - Oversee processes for consent management, data retention, permissible audience creation, and compliant data activation. - Monitor emerging health data laws and guide teams and clients on their business implications. Clean Room & Technology Ecosystem Leadership - Establish standards for how data enters, exits, and is manipulated within clean rooms, ensuring both compliance and analytical rigor. - Architect scalable, repeatable processes for audience creation, data onboarding, data hygiene, and measurement methodologies across platforms. Process & Team Leadership - Manage a large, diverse data strategy organization, with responsibility for workflow design, prioritization models, stakeholder alignment, and operational excellence. - Create and optimize end-to-end processes for intake, analysis, audience building, QA, activation, and reporting. - Mentor and develop a team of data strategists and specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and constant improvement. - Build strong partnerships with media, analytics, investment, strategy, engineering, and client teams, ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration. Qualifications B.A./B.S. degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field. - 10+ years of experience in digital media, ad technology, analytics, data strategy, or related fields. - Demonstrated experience in privacy-first marketing, including state-level health privacy laws, CCPA/CPRA and experience partnering with legal/privacy teams on compliance frameworks. - Hands-on experience with clean room platforms and secure data collaboration solutions. - Strong understanding of first-party data utilization, identity management, and modern data ecosystems. - Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear strategies for both technical and non-technical audiences. - Exceptional project management, team leadership, communication, and presentation skills. - Proven experience leading large teams and managing multiple, competing priorities in fast-paced environments. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
