The Business Systems Analyst – Data & Analytics (Power BI) role is a critical bridge between internal parties and technical teams. This position focuses on translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and insight driven BI solutions using Power BI and enterprise data platforms. The role demands strong analytical thinking, hands‑on BI development, and the ability to operate within enterprise governance and delivery standards. Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and data requirements Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports aligned to business Key Performance Indicator's Perform data analysis, validation, and reconciliation across multiple systems Build and optimize data models, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations Implement security, governance, and quality standards for BI assets Support UAT, team member reviews, and production releases Monitor, maintain, and enhance production dashboards and datasets Create and maintain clear documentation for reports, datasets, and metrics Qualifications BE / B.Tech / MCA (No correspondence courses) 4–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst / BI Analyst / Power BI Analyst Good communication and multi-functional collaboration skills Core Power BI Skills (Must‑Have) Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service Development of interactive, enterprise‑grade dashboards using filters, slicers, drill‑through, bookmarks, and tooltips Advanced data modeling (star/snowflake schemas, relationships, performance tuning) Proficient DAX for complex measures, time intelligence, and optimized calculations Strong Power Query (M) skills for data transformation and cleansing Experience with BI automation, including: Power Automate for refreshes, alerts, and workflows Python for advanced analytics and Databricks integration Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD of BI artifacts Data & Backend Skills (Very Important) Strong SQL expertise (joins, aggregations, CTEs, query optimization) Hands‑on experience with enterprise data sources: SQL Server, Azure SQL, Synapse Databricks Excel, CSV, APIs Solid understanding of data pipelines, refresh cycles, and dependencies Knowledge of Import, DirectQuery, and Composite models in Power BI Ability to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability Visualization & Storytelling Skills Apply data visualization standard processes to build intuitive dashboards Select appropriate visuals aligned to business questions and Key Performance Indicator's Design executive‑ready dashboards with strong layout, hierarchy, and consistency Translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights Use annotations and narratives to guide partner decision‑making Security, Governance & Quality Implement Row‑Level Security (RLS) and lead workspace permissions Adhere to enterprise data sensitivity and compliance standards Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks Ensure collaborator sign‑off before production releases Collaboration & Operational Skills Work with shared datasets and certified semantic models Collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and business partners Participate in requirement discussions, design reviews, and walkthroughs Fix refresh failures, monitor usage, and tune performance Provide ongoing production support and continuous improvements Nice‑to‑Have / Advanced Skills Power BI Embedded Automation using Power Automate beyond refresh workflows Familiarity with Tableau or Looker Experience in Agile / iterative delivery models Additional Information Epsilon is a global data, technology and services company that powers the marketing and advertising ecosystem.
