Overview Director of Technology - Healthcare This is a high-impact technology leadership role where you’ll shape and deliver modern healthcare platforms that matter to clients, to patients, and to the teams you lead. Responsibilities Your Role and Impact As a Director of Technology, you’ll lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and serve as a trusted technology advisor for enterprise healthcare clients. You’ll connect business strategy to technical execution, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to real outcomes. You will: Own technical strategy and execution for one or more major healthcare engagements, from discovery through delivery Partner with client technology leaders and executives to define solution roadmaps and guide large-scale digital transformation initiatives Lead, mentor, and grow teams of engineers and architects (typically 10–25+), setting a high bar for quality, collaboration, and accountability Translate complex business needs into modern cloud, data, and integration architectures Act as an escalation point for technical risk, ensuring delivery stays on track without becoming the sole problem-solver Establish and uphold engineering standards, participating in architecture and code reviews where your expertise adds the most value Shape new opportunities by contributing to proposals, execution approaches, and long-term client strategies Who You Are You’re a confident, hands-on technology leader who balances strategy with execution. You bring strong technical judgment, consultative presence, and the ability to guide teams through ambiguity. Qualifications Scope & Influence Lead and grow engineering teams across complex, multi-workstream healthcare programs Influence client technology direction at the Director, VP, and CIO level Partner closely with Client Partners, Product, Design, and Data leaders Contribute to practice-level thinking, standards, and reusable approaches within Publicis Sapient Skills & Experience We’re looking for a strong combination of technical depth, leadership capability, and consulting mindset. Your Skills and Experience: Experience delivering complex platforms in regulated industries such as healthcare, life sciences, financial services, or similar environments Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures and large-scale data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Strong background in application development using service-oriented and microservices-based architectures Technical fluency in Java or Python, with the ability to review designs, guide teams through delivery challenges, and engage credibly in code-level discussions Experience leading engineering teams of 10+ people across multiple workstreams Strength in systems integration, custom development, and enterprise-scale solution design Ability to distill complex problems into clear architectural approaches (e.g., Domain-Driven Design, data pipelines, messaging/event-driven systems) Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build alignment Healthcare Experience (Preferred) Familiarity with healthcare domains such as payer, provider, or life sciences Exposure to healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, HL7/FHIR), or the ability to quickly ramp into these areas Set Yourself Apart Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Experience applying AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics in enterprise environments Multi-geo or distributed delivery experience Interest in helping shape and grow a modern healthcare technology practice Growth & Opportunity This role offers a clear path to expanded leadership scope, including larger portfolios, broader influence across accounts, and opportunities to help shape Publicis Sapient’s healthcare and engineering practices.
