Our Collections Team works directly with our customers every day to support them in making their payments to Clearco.
The Senior Manager of Collections is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Clearco’s Collections Team. The role is crucial to the professional development and growth of our Collections Team while embodying and reinforcing our guiding principles of maximizing cash recovery, acting with speed, and enforcing our contractual rights.
At Clearco we “do collections” a bit differently; we expect our Collections Associates to not only be highly responsive and actively drive negotiations forward, but also be financially savvy enough to review financial statements and other documentation to challenge our customers’ assertions resulting in optimal recoveries for Clearco. Therefore, our Senior Manager of Collections must be an exceptional people developer and a strong financial analyst capable of guiding our team through the technical details of our customers’ financial challenges.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Review the status of our delinquent customers and their communications with our Collections Team
Support our Collections Team in analyzing customer bank statements, payment processor reports, and financial statements to estimate business health and capacity to pay
Prepare our Collections Team to engage our customers in rigorous questioning and negotiations
Act as a player-coach, engaging directly with our customers when escalations are warranted
Optimize procedures to improve Collections Team effectiveness and efficiency
Collaborate with other teams such as Product, Engineering, Support, Payments, Sales and especially Credit/Risk to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions
Analyze trends, portfolio performance, and identify opportunities for improvement

Contribute to and lead, in partnership with Clearco’s Vice President of Operations, projects and initiatives that improve the infrastructure and capabilities of Clearco’s Collections Team
You will thrive if you:
Have 7-10 years of experience in commercial collections/risk management, ideally within the eCommerce industry segment and within remote working environments
Love leading and developing a high-performing collections teams, demonstrating through personal example
Can confidently analyze financial statements and effectively communicate findings to the team
Show extraordinary attention to detail and can guide your team to a higher standard of rigor
Enjoy deal-making and can confidently negotiate, objection handle, and drive a deal to close
Are proficient with software such as Salesforce, Tableau, Google Suite, and Microsoft Excel
Manage and prioritize your time and multiple responsibilities; Clearco is a fast-paced workplace, where we look for same-day results while driving towards weekly and monthly goals
Are a builder and optimizer; Clearco is building for scalability and constantly improving our processes and procedures
Our Collections Team moves fast with each Collection Associate balancing several dozen customers who keep us on our toes. We work hard to maximize Clearco’s cash recovery so we can advance that capital to even more businesses to help them grow!
