Reporting to the State and Local Tax Manager, the Tax Accountant, Indirect Tax will primarily assist with the Company’s indirect state tax matters, including monthly sales tax reports, property tax filings, miscellaneous state taxes and other gross receipt tax reporting. Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare indirect tax workpapers and returns, including sales and use, property, and miscellaneous/gross receipts tax and support the State and Local Tax Manager with all audits in these areas.
  • Support the monthly close process, including the preparation of tax account reconciliations and posting of journal entries in SAP.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments and communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team.
  • Conduct state tax compliance research and assist with documentation.
  • Coordinate with Finance technology team to implement new jurisdictions for collection/remittance.
  • Prepare and manage various state registrations for sales and use tax and other miscellaneous state taxes.
  • Manage sales tax exemption certificate records in OneSource.
  • Monitor the corporate tax inbox and prepare responses to sales tax inquiries for review.
  • Assist with resolution of state tax notices.
  • Implement process improvements, controls, and automation to enable operational efficiencies, streamline the close process and ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Engage and align with internal and external business partners and advisors.
  • Collaborate well within our team as well as with our business partners across the ZoomInfo organization.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of tax experience in industry or public accounting; with a focus on state and/or indirect tax compliance preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Evidence of time management, organizational, and prioritization skills required.
  • Cheerful attitude that contributes to a positive experience for all team members.
  • Resilient, resourceful, and solutions oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn new software, experiment with AI and pursue ways to continuously improve and simplify processes required.

This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of three days per week in our Vancouver, WA or Waltham, MA office. All tax team members wherever located are required to travel to a ZoomInfo office location for a week at a time on a quarterly basis regardless of primary work location, or more often as needs or the business dictate.

Actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, qualifications, skills, experience and/or training. Below is the US base salary for this position. Additional compensation such as Bonus, Commission, Equity and other benefits may also apply.
