Email Integrations Engineer

• Location: Hybrid work model in Vancouver, WA is preferred / Remote possible

General Function/Role Purpose:

The Email Integrations Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing our email communication strategies. This position requires a deep understanding of data integrations technologies mechanisms and the ability to leverage big data to ensure our messages reach their intended recipients effectively. The successful candidate will be adept at analyzing and improving email outcomes, using sophisticated data feeds and queries across various channels, and integrating these insights into our Email as a Service (EaaS) and martech solutions.

Primary Duties:

• Leveraging advanced data analysis and monitoring techniques.
• Develop and implement sophisticated tools and data hooks to consume, track, interpret, and report on email event outcomes from our MarTech platform, enhancing visibility into email performance.
• Design and build robust solutions to improve our email monitoring stack and refine our anti-abuse identification ruleset, ensuring proactive detection and prevention of email abuse.
• Establish and maintain high standards for metrics collection, dashboard creation, and alerting mechanisms to provide actionable insights and real-time monitoring of email deliverability.
• Create and manage trend analysis alerts for user activity and email sending patterns, detecting and addressing harmful behaviors both internally and among client senders.
• Collaborate closely with data teams to identify, analyze, and mitigate problematic sending behaviors, improving overall email deliverability and compliance.
• Lead incident response efforts for a variety of Email Service Providers (ESPs) deployed within our MarTech platform, ensuring swift resolution of deliverability issues.
• Document and continuously improve internal email delivery processes and workflows to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Contribute to the development of customer-facing documentation, providing clear and comprehensive guidelines to support client email deliverability best practices.
• Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Proficient in programming and scripting languages such as cURL, Python, Java, Ruby, PHP, C#, or Node.js, with practical experience in developing and maintaining email-related applications
• Proven experience in setting up and managing integrations using API technologies, ensuring seamless communication between email systems and other platforms
• Exceptional ability to distill complex technical concepts and explain them clearly to diverse audiences, showcasing both expertise and effective communication skills
• Minimum of two years of hands-on experience with bulk and transactional email delivery is preferred.
• Strong technical foundation in Managed DNS and email authentication, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize these systems

Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
