✨ Let’s give businesses more time for what matters.
At BILL, we are looking for a highly analytical and strategic Finance Manager to join our Product Finance team. As an Individual Contributor (IC), you will serve as the dedicated financial business partner to our product organization.
In this role, you will build complex financial models to support business cases, drive the annual planning process, and most importantly, empower our Product business partners with the insights they need to make confident, profitable growth decisions. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence product strategy, performance tracking, and resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities
- Empower Business Partners: Act as a strategic enabler and trusted advisor to product leaders. Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable narratives that help stakeholders understand their business levers and drive growth.
- Product KPIs & Value Drivers: Partner with product leadership to define, track, and identify operational levers to drive key product KPIs.
- Business Case Development: Build rigorous, ground-up financial models to evaluate the viability of new product launches and strategic investments.
- Annual Strategic Planning: Play a key role in driving the annual planning cycle for the product organization, ensuring that strategic goals are fully aligned with financial realities and resource allocation.
- Advanced Financial Modeling: Design, maintain, and own dynamic financial and scenario models to support strategic decision-making, long-range planning, and KPI optimization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Accounting to ensure tight alignment on product strategy, business cases, and tight execution of operational goals.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5-7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, equity research or a related analytical role.
- Financial Modeling: Exceptional financial modeling skills using Excel/Google Sheets. You must be highly comfortable building complex, dynamic models from scratch, specifically for business cases and scenario planning.
- Industry Knowledge: Existing knowledge of SaaS business models and metrics is highly preferred. However, candidates with a demonstrated, rapid ability to learn complex new business models will be strongly considered.
- Navigating Ambiguity: Highly adaptable with the ability to take abstract, ambiguous concepts or data gaps and translate them into structured financial frameworks, logical assumptions, and actionable insights.
- Team Player: Highly collaborative with a "no task is too small" mindset. A proven ability to build strong, high-trust relationships across various departments and levels of leadership.
- Communication Skills: Strong executive presence with the ability to distill complex financial concepts into compelling narratives to empower and influence business partners.
- Independence: Highly self-motivated and proactive. You thrive as an individual contributor taking full ownership of your deliverables and strategic projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
