The Portfolio Management and Strategic Initiatives team sits at the intersection of risk strategy and operational execution, owning the programs, partnerships, and frameworks that enable BILL's risk organization to move quickly and with confidence. This team works directly with senior leadership and cross-functional partners to translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes across credit risk, fraud risk, and reputational risk domains.

- Build and maintain operating frameworks that support risk strategic initiatives, including the evaluation and deployment of AI tooling to reduce manual workflows and improve team efficiency.
- Own third-party vendor relationships from selection and contract negotiation through ongoing performance evaluation, ROI monitoring, and budget oversight, ensuring vendors deliver measurable value to risk management programs.
- Drive prioritization and alignment across risk initiatives by communicating clear objectives, timelines, and resource plans to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Partner closely with risk analysts, data scientists, and business partners across compliance, fraud, and credit risk to integrate risk management strategies and provide thought leadership on data-driven practices.
- Lead and develop a team of data analysts and portfolio managers, providing coaching on portfolio management best practices, quantitative analysis, and strategic storytelling.
- Oversee governance processes within the Risk division, ensuring programs are tracked, reported, and adjusted based on performance data and shifting organizational priorities.
We'd love to chat if you have:
- 8 or more years of experience in risk management, portfolio analytics, program management, or a related field within financial services or fintech.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional programs with clear ownership over scope, timelines, deliverables, and budget.
- Hands-on experience managing third-party vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance measurement, and ROI tracking.
- Strong working knowledge of payment products and risk management principles across credit, fraud, and reputational risk domains.
- Ability to translate complex data insights and risk analysis into clear recommendations and executive-level communications.
- Experience building and leading teams, with a track record of developing analysts and managers through coaching and structured feedback.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience evaluating or deploying AI and automation tooling to reduce manual processes within risk or operations functions.
- Foundational proficiency in SQL or another programming language, with comfort engaging directly with data in support of portfolio analysis.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly advantageous and will be given strong consideration.
