BILL is looking for a highly strategic and process-driven Sr. Bank Partner Operations Manager to own and scale the day-to-day operations with our sponsor banks and financial partners. You will serve as the primary operational bridge between BILL and our banking partners, ensuring that our money movement and financial products run smoothly, compliantly, and efficiently for the SMBs who rely on us.
You will be responsible for managing service level agreements (SLAs), overseeing compliance and audit requests, troubleshooting operational incidents, and collaborating closely with our Product, Engineering, and Legal/Compliance teams to launch new features while maintaining the absolute health of our banking relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Bank Relationship Management: Serve as the primary day-to-day operational point of contact for our sponsor banks and financial partners.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor and manage daily operational flows (e.g., ACH, wires, virtual cards, settlements) to ensure strict SLAs are met and exception handling is seamless.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner seamlessly across Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Compliance to ensure we play by the rules while building innovative solutions for our customers.
- Audits & Compliance: Act as the central coordinator for bank partner audits and continuous oversight. Gather required documentation, manage timelines, and ensure all operations adhere to bank partner guidelines and regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA/AML, KYC).
- Incident Escalation: Act as the escalation point for critical banking operational issues, working rapidly to drive resolution and perform root-cause analyses so our customers' cash flow is never interrupted.
- Process Improvement: Continuously develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for bank-related processes to help BILL scale efficiently.
We’d love to chat if you have:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in operations, partnerships, or compliance within the fintech, banking, or financial services industry.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the sponsor bank model, payments infrastructure (ACH, Wires, Card Networks), and financial reconciliation processes.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards (BSA/AML, KYC, Reg E, etc.).
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex financial operational issues and translate technical problems to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of successfully managing external B2B relationships and pushing back gracefully when needed.
