By replacing outdated financial processes with innovative tools, we help businesses—from startups to established brands—make smarter decisions and gain control of their operations. We're committed to building a workplace that fosters inclusion and diverse perspectives, valuing each person’s unique skills and experiences. We’d love to hear from you—you might be just what we’re looking for, whether in this role or another.

✨ Let’s give businesses more time for what matters.

Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

Join BILL’s Strategy & Operations team as a Senior Staff leader initially focused on payments, where you will develop and support enterprise-critical strategies and ensure execution against the company’s most B2B Payments and Financial Services goals. This is a high-impact, senior individual contributor role for a seasoned generalist who can ramp quickly across lines of business and serve as an integrator across key areas of the business. You will reinforce the connective tissue between corporate and business strategies, with a particular emphasis on strategic initiatives related to BILL’s Payments & Financial Services business. As a senior IC, you will lead cross-functional workstreams, drive alignment across cross-BU initiatives, and define the next phase of growth for BILL’s payments portfolio.

You will also run core operating cadences, manage and track business performance on high-priority initiatives, diagnose issues and opportunities, and contribute to Executive and Board updates with crisp, data-driven storytelling. The ideal candidate brings deep business intuition, a proven strategy toolkit, exceptional program leadership, and the executive presence to influence senior stakeholders and accelerate decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of multi-year strategies for key areas of BILL’s business, ensuring alignment with BILL’s broader business objectives and long-term vision
  • Identify and execute key strategic initiatives that align with BILL’s business objectives and drive measurable impact across the organization
  • Support comprehensive planning processes, ensuring alignment with long-term priorities while adapting to changing market and company conditions
  • Oversee business performance metrics, analyze critical data sources, and translate findings into actional insights
  • Conduct regular analysis on key industry and competitive trends
  • Prepare executive-level content to communicate business performance and opportunities
  • Advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organization, establishing robust frameworks for evaluating impact
  • Serve as a visible leader and thought partner—creating structure for complex challenges and accelerating high-visibility initiatives

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • 8+ years of experience spanning Strategy Consulting and in-house Strategy/Business Operations or Product Strategy; direct domain experience in Fintech and/or Payments is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated success driving high-impact, cross-functional programs and influencing senior stakeholders through clear, data-backed recommendations.
  • Breadth of a seasoned generalist with hands-on collaboration across Strategy, Operations, Finance, Product, Marketing, and ideally Risk/Treasury/Compliance.
  • Strong payments fluency across key concepts and levers: rails (ACH, wires, card, instant/RTP), processors and networks, sponsor banks, KYC/AML and fraud controls, disputes/chargebacks, ledgering and reconciliation, settlement/funding mechanics, and unit economics.
  • Exceptional business acumen and analytical rigor—able to synthesize complex data and market signals into actionable strategies and operating plans.
  • Proven program leadership skills; track record of mobilizing teams, removing blockers, and consistently delivering outcomes against ambitious goals.
  • Expertise in operational excellence, change management, and strategic planning for multi-functional teams in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Strong history of collaboration and influence across product and business teams; aptitude for structuring ambiguity, clarifying decisions, and driving alignment.
  • Outstanding communication and executive presence, including crisp written and verbal storytelling for Executive and Board audiences.
