Join the team bringing advanced autonomy to the built world
At Bedrock, we’re moving AI out of the lab and into the real world. Our team is composed of industry veterans who helped launch Waymo, scaled Segment to a $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue. Today, we’re deploying autonomous systems on heavy construction machinery across the country, accelerating project schedules of billion-dollar infrastructure projects and improving safety on job sites. Backed by $350M in funding, we’re working quickly to close the gap between America's surging demand for housing, data centers, manufacturing hubs, and the construction industry's growing labor shortage.
This is where algorithms meet steel-toed boots. You’ll collaborate with construction veterans and world-class engineers to solve physical-world problems that simulations can’t touch. If you're ready to apply cutting-edge technology to solve meaningful problems alongside a talented team—we'd love to have you join us.
The Role:
Join a team of engineers building legible infrastructure. Every compute environment, from developer workstations to embedded robotics platform, is defined declaratively, unlocking capabilities that make the entire organization move faster:
Robotics engineers can reproduce production environments locally
Security teams audit configurations through code review, not manual inspection
New engineers can rapidly begin contributing to Bedrock's systems by reading the repository
Bedrock’s Infrastructure team owns the compute substrate that powers Bedrock Robotics.
What You'll Do:
Take ownership of and build upon existing remote provisioning pipelines for macOS, Windows, and Linux workstations
Lead the evolution of device provisioning, compliance, security posture, patching, and lifecycle management
Create zero-touch onboarding & recovery experiences for Windows and Linux: new hires receive a laptop that self-configures on first boot and can recover itself in the field.
Contribute, update and test changes made to systems that establish endpoint configuration in code
Build automation and infrastructure‑as‑code pipelines using tools like Terraform (or similar), Bash/Python scripting, and the APIs of SaaS products to minimize manual work and invite contribution from engineers around the organization
Translate company objectives (security, velocity, developer experience, scale) into concrete client-platform solutions
Partner closely with Security, Infrastructure, and Engineering to ensure endpoints integrate cleanly into the broader systems architecture
Act as a technical owner and decision-maker for this domain, setting standards and direction rather than reacting to tickets
Clearly articulate the why behind platform decisions and tell the story of how tools were shaped into outcomes
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of hands‑on experience managing macOS, Windows or Linux desktop systems at scale in an enterprise environment
Strong scripting capabilities in Bash, with fluency in a second language like Python; ability to programmatically integrate with RESTful APIs
Proven proficiency in automation/infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar in an IT context
Hands-on experience managing macOS, Windows, and Linux desktops at scale with tools like FleetDM, Azure Intune, Puppet, or comparable tools.
Prior ownership of a major desktop or endpoint management deployment, with the ability to explain architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and outcomes
Deep understanding of enterprise security practices for endpoints, including vulnerability/patch management, enforcing least privilege, encryption, and compliance frameworks
Exceptional troubleshooting skills and ability to debug complex endpoint issues; capable of representing the IT team in high‑severity escalations
Proven ability to extend vendor tooling beyond out-of-the-box use and integrate it into a coherent internal platform
Strong systems thinking and documentation skills; you can explain not just what you built, but why it mattered
Our roles are often flexible. If you don't fit all the criteria, or are in another location (especially one where we have an office like SF or NY) please apply anyway! We'd love to consider you.
