The Role
We are looking for the inaugural member of our accounting leadership to serve as the primary contact for all accounting and financial reporting matters for the Company. You will work to set up the foundational bedrock of our financial systems and enable and automate the systems and processes to enable our leaders to be equipped with the financial data and insights required to make strategic investments.
This role will be responsible for leading the accounting close process,overseeing the company's day-to-day financial operations, and driving the business towards completion of its first financial audit.
Responsibilities
Manage and perform day-to-day accounting operation activities, including management of our general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and equity-based compensation functions.
Lead the preparation, completeness, and accuracy of all aspects of the monthly financial close processes in partnership with others on the team, monitoring close progression and ensuring that tasks are completed in an efficient and sustainable way.
Evaluate accounting software and develop a roadmap of our financial applications and integrations required to drive automation and efficiency across the entire company as the operation scales.
Collaborate with finance and other cross-functions teams on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Develop Assembled’s revenue recognition policy and ensure revenue reporting and other key portfolio, equity and SBC accounting are done in compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP standards.
Manage tax filings, including state, local, and international entity requirements, as appropriate.
About You
8+ years of experience in accounting, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry experience within fast-growth environments highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, payroll systems, treasury management, and audit processes; is conversant with emerging accounting/reporting issues and trends, and adapts well to changing business needs.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills and able to handle complex accounting issues.
Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems; implementation experience of financial applications a plus.
Bias to action. Someone who possesses a strong sense of ownership and is not averse to rolling up his/her sleeves and becoming involved in the details of the business when needed.
