About AIUC
Our mission is to underwrite superintelligence. We red-team, certify, and insure agents, e.g. ElevenLabs, UiPath, Intercom. Soon, agents will take on critical work in hospitals, banks and governments. This could create abundance - or go terribly wrong. History teaches us that standards and insurance are capitalism’s best tools for making risk legible and shaping incentives. We’ve built the gold standard for agent security & reliability, AIUC-1, with 100+ CISOs from the Fortune 1000. Our team comes from Anthropic, McKinsey, METR, etc. Nat Friedman led our $15m seed. The role
AIUC certifies AI agents based on security, safety, and reliability. As our founding security lead, you will own security at a business that is built upon trust. Our stakeholders are CISOs at Fortune 500 enterprises and the world's fastest-growing AI companies. They trust us to tell them whether their systems can be trusted and that requires internal credibility, controls, and posture.
AIUC-1 as a standard is paving the way for agentic security, your expertise will directly influence what this means across the industry. Our security function will be what other companies will turn to as the playbook.
This is once in a life-time opportunity, and in practice you will:
Shape and evolve AIUC-1's security requirements as the agentic threat landscape changes, from prompt injection, adversarial attacks, jailbreaks, MCP and A2A risks
Be AIUC's external security voice on what AI agent security means in practice, through client conversations, consortium sessions, and thought leadership
Build and manage our core security infrastructure and build a world-class security posture, develop and enforce security policies and incident response across the organization
Be the practitioner's lens to how enterprises assess AI vendor security today
Handle enterprise client security and collaborate with our commercial team
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who has spent years in security and is now ready to use that expertise to shape a standard. You are as comfortable in a room with a CISO as you are in the technical details, and you would rather write the playbook than implement someone else's.
You'll need to have:
5–7 years in security, at a SaaS / AI / PS known for its rigour, with ownership spanning both strategic, technical and operational work
Deep familiarity with how enterprises evaluate AI vendor security
Technical fluency across the core stack
Expertise and strong communication skills within complex security topics
Passion about AI-specific security risks and a strong will to shape and define the new standard in its industry
Compensation & perks
Annual salary as above
Equity is a significant part of total compensation, in addition to salary
Generous health, dental and vision insurance for you and your dependents
Visa sponsorship and relocation stipend to bring you to SF, if possible
A team dedicated to doing our lives’ best work.

Strong Back - High standards, keep our promises, work hard
Fast Feet - Experiment, cut scope, take delight in pace
