About AIUC
Agents are being deployed into hospitals, banks, and governments today. Soon there will be more agent-to-agent interactions than human-to-human interactions. The world needs a gold standard for AI safety, security, and reliability. That standard is AIUC-1, and building it is our mission.
Our mission is to underwrite superintelligence. We evaluate, certify, and insure AI agents, giving high-growth AI companies the credibility to earn their customers' trust. Over time, we will do the same for foundation models and data centers.
Our team comes from Anthropic, McKinsey, METR, Weights & Biases, Perplexity, and the Thiel Fellowship. We have raised $15M led by Nat Friedman, Emergence, and Terrain, with backing from Anthropic co-founder Ben Mann and ex-CISOs at Google Cloud and MongoDB.
The role
As our Chief of Staff you will work directly with the co-founders across our entire revenue and operations organizations. You will shape our growth trajectory, our ability to scale our team, our go to market approach, our company culture.
Your core challenge is to amplify the impact and work of the founders. As the customer base and team scale quickly, we need to do more, faster. Our core focus is driving adoption of AIUC-1: the standard and evals are only valuable if they are applied in the real world.
From the outset you will:
Lead strategic projects: like identifying new partners and onboarding them, selecting strategic vendors to drive our certification
Triage inbound opportunities and make calls on what needs founder attention
Run our operating cadence: board decks, OKRs, org-wide meetings
Build repeatable systems for how we work: sales collateral and pipeline tracking, hiring processes, decision frameworks
Over time you will build broad autonomy to make calls on behalf of the company with direct accountability for outcomes. For example:
Take more ownership of driving the revenue org
Regularly deputize for founders in internal/external meetings
Lead one or multiple functions
Ideally, this role will expand to an executive / functional leader role within AIUC. Or, for aspiring founders: this role is your training ground.
What we’re looking for
We're looking for someone who can bridge the gap between AI research and enterprise adoption realities. You should be the type of person who can earn trust with both AI builders and Fortune 500 CISOs - understanding what each group cares about and translating between them.
You'll need to have:
Exceptional judgment - you can model someone else's preferences and make calls they'd endorse
Adapted to different ways of working and communication styles
Directly influenced decisions through building relationships and force of will
Communicated complex technical concepts in writing with clarity
Managed a small team and influenced a broader group of people to deliver business outcomes
Best fit: 5-7 years of experience including exceptional performance at a top consulting firm (MBB) and owned outcomes at a high-growth startup.
Our values
Strong Back
We hold ourselves to the highest standards because underwriting superintelligence demands nothing less. Trust is our business, and we earn it through crisp thinking, radical ownership, and delivering on every promise we make.
Fast Feet
We move fast by shipping early, deciding decisively, and cutting what doesn't deserve full effort. Speed comes from preparation, experimentation, and always knowing who owns what and by when.
Eyes Up
We stay sharp on changes in AI and how they impact our product, our customers, and the world. AI fluency is not optional: we use it, experiment with it, and integrate it into our daily workflows.
Open Heart
We show up honestly, name what's real, and lean into the hard conversations rather than manage around them. Real connection comes from sharing your experience, not controlling the outcome.
