Role Summary
As Adaptive’s first dedicated recruiter, you will build—from the ground up—the systems, relationships, and processes that fuel our most important asset: our people. Partnering closely with the executive team, you’ll own the full hiring lifecycle for every function (with an early emphasis on engineering), craft a best-in-class candidate experience that reflects our builder-centric culture, and ensure that new hires hit the ground running through a smooth, data-driven onboarding program. Your work will directly shape Adaptive’s growth trajectory and culture during this pivotal stage.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Building – Proactively identify, engage, and nurture diverse talent pools across technical and business roles using a mix of outbound outreach, referrals, events, and employer-branding initiatives.
End-to-End Recruitment – Manage requisitions from kick-off to signed offer: craft compelling job descriptions, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, drive debriefs, negotiate offers, and close candidates.
Onboarding Ownership – Design and continuously improve a structured onboarding program that accelerates time-to-productivity and reinforces Adaptive’s values, processes, and product context for all new hires.
Process Design & Optimization – Establish scalable, metrics-driven recruiting workflows (ATS configuration, interview guides, scorecards, diversity checkpoints) and track funnel data to inform decisions.

Stakeholder Enablement – Train and coach hiring managers and interviewers on inclusive interviewing, candidate experience, and data-driven selection to raise the bar across the organization.
Qualifications
2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a high-growth startup or agency environment.
At least 1 year focused on technical recruiting (e.g., software engineers, data roles) with a track record of closing senior-level talent.
Demonstrated success creating or scaling recruiting processes and tooling (ATS, sourcing tech, analytics).
Strong project-management skills: able to juggle multiple searches, stakeholders, and timelines without dropping details.
Clear, persuasive communicator—written and verbal—with the ability to craft candidate-centric messaging and influence senior leaders.
Comfortable operating as a “team of one” today, with the vision to build and mentor a future recruiting function as Adaptive grows.

Compensation
The annual base compensation range for this role is $130-150k USD plus equity and benefits.
